About Regis Foster
An educator from New York, Regis Foster has served as a special education teacher at Port Jervis High School since 2003. In his 20+ year career, Regis Foster has taught American and global history, economics, and government to students in grades 9 through 12.
Mr. Foster has taught students using an instructional curriculum designed to develop cognition, memory, language, sensory, and perceptual motor skills. He also helped students learn socially acceptable behaviors in a positive environment. Regis Foster communicated with parents about their children’s progress, maintaining complete student records. He also played an integral role in devising individualized education programs (IEPs), individual student-centered programs designed to help students’ educational, physical, and social/emotional growth.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Foster maintains professional organization memberships, including with the National Education Association. He also held memberships with the New York State United Teachers and the American Federation of Teachers. Moreover, Regis Foster served as the president of the Port Jervis Teachers' Association. In addition, he is a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society, Port Jervis Knights of Columbus #471, and the Port Jervis Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge.
